Hey, my name is Eric and I'm 23 years old. I was born and raised in Chicago Heights, Illinois; a southern Chicago suburb.
As a first generation Hispanic student, paving my way through higher education has been a whirlwind of experiences and emotions. Beginning a journey where very few relatives have passed through can be an intimidating process since guidance is limited. However, in 2017 I took a leap of faith to explore my potential and seek greater opportunities through the world of academia and technology.
Today, I am a Senior at Illinois Institute of Technology pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science. Through internships, personal projects, and course projects; I have gained experience and proficiency in Python, Java, Git, AWS, and Linux. I also have familiarity with the Agile/Scrum methodology, CI/CD methodology, and the Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practice.
I am interested in Internship/Co-Op opportunities specializing with the Cloud ☁️: automation, analytics, engineering. I value companies with a diverse culture and who consistently provide a space for their employees to learn, be challenged, and grow professionally and individually.
Outside of these things, I am an avid non-fiction reader and podcast binger. I enjoy learning about various topics outside of tech through these resources. Most of these topics are things I am genuinely interested in such as human biology, holistic medicine, and nutrition science. A typical week for me consists of exercising, cooking, walking my dog (she's a Black Mouth Cur!), and hanging out with family and friends.

Attended Bloom High School. Held high honor roll over the 4 years. Multiple AP Courses, joined the soccer team, and team lead in the Robotics Club.
April 2016
Team and I built a RC car controlled with a rapsberry pi via bluetooth using an Android phone. Also implemented a camera that tracks objects based on color.

Selected as an intern to work with the platform automation team at OCC in Chicago. Worked with AWS (EC2, Lambda, RDS, S3), Terraform, and Jenkins. Automated the management of AWS infrastructure to cut annual costs by 25%
August 2021
Elected to serve as Technical Chair for the SHPE-IIT chapter; deployed a new website on a new domain to save on annual costs, wrote scripts to automate tedious administrative operations, and leading technical workshops

Selected to intern as a Tech Delivery Analyst at Accenture starting June 2022
